We are entertainers and performers that bring fun and laughter to sick and vulnerable children across East Anglia.
The founders Patrick Jacobs and Annie Aris have had many years of experience working in the field of children’s entertainment in hospitals such as Great Ormond Street, London and Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge as well as within many special needs centres, hospices, care homes and hospitals across Essex.
We provide comedy, clowning, magic, songs, play acting, music, puppets and most importantly improvisation whilst maintaining the utmost sensitivity to the needs of the hospitalised children and other vulnerable groups. Key to our success is our ability to listen, be patient, maintain awareness and acceptance whilst using our artistic skills to enable laughter and fun to flourish in sometimes fearful situations.
Our strength lies in our ability to accept each individual whatever his or her physical, intellectual, emotional or social ability and inter-act with them appropriately depending on their needs, either individually or in a group setting.
The Laughter Specialists work in, hospices, SEN centres and schools, in fact anywhere that they are required and we are continually looking to expand our much appreciated services into new outlets across East Anglia.
We can visit for a short show of up to an hour or come for a whole afternoon visiting individual children in wards, classrooms, or playrooms. We try to be as versatile and adaptable as we can for you as we understand the constraints and adaptation requirements of caring, so we can change our programme and improvise with our audience in a moment.
